Volumetrics

Setting the volumetrics

1. Press and hold the right most button (the one which doesn’t picture a cup) until water stops flowing out of the group head, and it starts blinking to enter programming mode

2. Put in your portafilter

3. Press the button you want to program

4. Press the rightmost button again to stop the flow and store the value

5. Press the rightmost button again to exit programming mode

Standard Deviation

When using the volumetrics for an 18 g in / 36 g out shot, I observed a standard deviation of 2.02 g. Without the sample size and test conditions recorded here, treat that as an owner observation rather than a specification for the machine.

Grounding of the Flowmeter

My flowmeter was giving inconsistent readings.

I found scale around the flowmeter and a brittle O-ring. After replacing the O-ring and cleaning the contact surface so the grounding wire made contact again, the readings became reproducible. This machine contains mains wiring; disconnect it from power before opening it and leave electrical repairs to someone qualified.
